Frequently I’ve found when clicking on “Install this site as an app”, the URL is not correct. So trying to edit the URL became a pain until I found the following solution.
- Right-click the web app in the start menu and select “Open File Location”
- Right-click the shortcut and select “Properties”
- The target field will contain “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge_proxy.exe” –profile-directory=”Profile 1″ –app-id=<XXXXXXXXXXXXXX> or something to that effect. The solution is to replace the –app-id with –app=”<Complete URL>” (including the quotes).
Since completing this, I’ve been able to efficiently open many streaming videos direftly on my connected TV.
